Our Breeding Dogs

Our home wouldn't be complete without Nellie and Walter, our foundation breeding dogs. They live a life of luxury, treated as one of us, eating only the highest quality raw and fresh meals and engaging in regular cognitive and physical stimulation. In return, they offer unfailing love, comfort and companionship.

SH Sunlit Walter Junior

Introducing Spring Hills Sunlit Walter Jnr.

This stunning red stud epitomises the Australian Cobberdog; even-tempered, loyal, goofy and always eager to please. But perhaps Walter’s best feature yet is his connectedness to humans and desire to be around people old and young, frail and agile, energetic or sedentary. Walter seeks out human contact and is attuned to being playful and chipper when the time is right, but calm, regulated and comforting if a situation calls for it. Standard in size, with excellent conformation and free of any inheritable diseases (full breed profile available on request), Walter has a luscious wavy red coat with stunning black pigment (especially around his eyes, drawing you in with his beautifully framed features). Walter is available for stud work until the end of 2024.

Walter has been genetically tested and is 100% clear of 31 known genetic diseases. Elbows and hips have been tested and cleared.

Lovelocks Nellie

Lovelocks Nellie is our foundation breeding dam. She's born to Spring Hills Roscoe and Spring Hills Martha, both 100% clear of genetic diseases. Nellie encapsulates the cobberdog look. She has a beautiful low-density caramel straight coat, striking blue eyes and a gorgeous brown nose (bbee). She is an affectionate, gentle and very intelligent girl with fantastic eye contact and a calm temperament. When people find out how young she is, their mouths drop in disbelief - they cannot believe that a puppy can be so chilled out, yet confident at such an age. Nellie is cheeky and affectionate and has outstanding physical conformation. Nellie has mothered two litters for us, so will be taking a break until 2025 when she will have her final litter.

Daley Connections Lady

From the moment she was born, we knew Lady was special. At just a few weeks old, we saw traits in Lady that we knew we wanted in our breeding program. Not only does she have the richest, copper, genetically straight coat (bbee) I've ever seen in a cobberdog, but she has a glowing low-energy temperament and is incredibly intelligent. The plan was to place Lady in a local guardian home, but when the time came to part with her it was just too difficult, so she now lives with my parents nearby. She spends her days tinkering with Dad in the shed or pottering in the garden with Mum. She's cheeky and goofy, playful yet calm. She even took on the joint role of caring for her younger siblings (who were 7 weeks old)  while Nellie was recovering from a sprain. She's maternal and warm, friendly and clever, affectionate and cuddly. Lady has recently had her hips scored and they are lovely and tight, making her suitable for breeding. She is a standard sized dog.

Pentuckylou Dixie "Stella"

This black beauty was selected to join our breeding program because of her calm, low energy, gentle temperament. She is the progeny of our Walter and Pentuckylou's Penny (Spring Hills Penelope Grace). Stella lives in her forever home with Charlotte and has been raised around other animals. She has a lovely light density straight coat and has been genetically tested to ensure she doesn't carry any known diseases. Her hips have been tested deeming her a suitable breeding prospect. Stella is a small standard and will whelp her first litter with us towards the end of 2024.

Daley Connections Posie "Tilly"

When you look at Tilly, her eyes immediately make you feel warm and at ease. Tilly is an exemplary dog from Nellie and Walter's first litter (Lady's sister and littermate). She has the softest, silkiest light density straight coat and is bursting with love and affection. Tilly lives a wonderful life with the Rowell family. Her lovely caramel coat is divine to the touch and the black pigment framing her eyes simply enhances her beauty. She is playful and human-focused, has engaged in scent work training and rapidly progressed through doggy classes because of her high learning aptitude. She is a large medium and the perfect companion for the Rowell children. She is so gentle and always eager to please humans. A very welcome addition to our breeding program.

Ridgy Didge Amaretto "Alfred"

In collaboration with McCashney Australian Cobberdogs, we welcome Amaretto as a medium sized prospect to our respective programs. Amaretto is a straight coated, golden male with lovely rose pigment (bbee). He is clear of all known genetic diseases and will be paired with some of our breeding girls in late 2024. Amaretto lives along the coastal area of the Mornington Peninsula with his fur brother Enzo and their loving humans.
In addition to helping us expand the sizes of dogs we can offer, he brings emotional warmth, human connectedness and a gentle and friendly temperament.
