Loyal and obedient, the Australian Cobberdog is a breed in development that showcases many of the positive qualities you desire in a furry family member.
While we genuinely believe cobberdogs are the -best- breed out there, it is important to remember that all dogs, regardless of breed, will exhibit typical puppy behaviours (mouthing, jumping, barking, accidents indoors, etc). Because cobberdogs are so intelligent, consistent and ongoing training is critical. When pups leave here at eight weeks of age, they are already toilet trained and have learnt basic commands such as 'sit' and 'leave it'. We adhere to world-renowned dog trainer and breeder Jeanette Forrey's Empowered Breeder Curriculum to ensure we condition pups to be confident little doggos. This is called 'desensitisation'.
Early desensitisation is paramount in shaping confident, even-tempered dogs as it exposes them to a variety of stimuli during their critical developmental period. By systematically introducing puppies to different sounds, textures, environments, people, and animals in a positive and controlled manner, we can help them acclimate to novel experiences without fear or anxiety. This process helps build resilience and adaptability, laying the foundation for a well-adjusted and balanced adult dog, promoting a lifelong sense of security and confidence in various situations. It important to note that all puppies require ongoing training. The more time spent training and desensitising a young pup, the better their behaviour as an adult. It is our preference to sell pet/companion puppies. If you require a dog for a specific role, please contact us.

Coat Types
The Australian Cobberdog coat is stunning. There are three types of coats recognised by the MDBA; straight (loose waves like Nellie), wavy (thicker waves like Walter) and curly (not so common anymore and much higher maitenance).
Cobberdogs are low shedding, making them ideal for people with allergies. The cobber coat drops dirt and dust easily, meaning no big messes are carried inside. Cobberdogs should be regularly brushed to avoid the formation of mats. We recommend the use of a good slicker brush. We also regularly trim the fur around our dogs' eyes. Their eyes are far too hypnotising and human-like to be concealed by their coat.
